ERIK ILLOTT  was Bristol  shanty singer of the '70's. A multi- instrumentalist  he is usally remembered for his spoon playing. I believe that he only made one record which was comprised of shanties associated with Bristol.  Broom. Nobby and myself , regularly saw him perform at  Folk clubs. ERIK sadly died in

A great character . It's not generally known but ERIK was also an accomplished  Morris dancer with the Earlsden Morris of Coventry.
