 "Welcome to our website.  The Harry Browns are regarded as the premier shanty & maritime group in the Bristol & West area. We have been singing together now for almost twenty years, so we should be getting it right by now.

We sing both traditional & contemporary songs, but with an emphasis on songs from the West Country. On the following pages you will find out more about us and where & when we will be appearing at a dockside near you.

The Harrys enjoy singing and sharing that enjoyment with anyone who chooses to listen. We hope to keep alive the memory & traditions of the sea-faring people of Bristol. Although shanties were working songs sung on board ship we believe that, these days , they are better enjoyed when sung by everyone - Harrys and audience alike.

      " We enjoyed our second visit to Cheriton Fitzpaine a couple of weeks ago.Ian Greening was persauded to fill the breach for us,as because of sickness and other reasons we were a little depleted. A quick rehearsal and all was well.

Hope you enjoyed it . Shame the Ring o' Bells was closed..hope to see you next year

" we enjoyed our annual visit , but attendances were lower this year, people being put off by flood warnings I suppose. However, those who saw us ,seemed to enjoy what we were doing. It was good fun sharing our spots with Trim Rig & a Doxy "

  On Saturday the 31st March, the son of one of founder members ,(John " Broom " Broomhead) was married at Wells .It was a great day, we were pleased to be there.
